Work Visa
9 (g) Work Visa:This is the most common type of work visa in the Philippines, issued to foreign nationals with formal employment in the Philippines. First, the Philippine employer needs to apply for a Foreign Employment Permit (AEP) from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Bureau of Immigration (BI). After obtaining permission, they can apply for a 9 (g) visa for the employee. For the applicant, materials required include a valid passport, labor contract, a copy of the Philippine company's business license, a copy of the AEP, educational certificates, proof of work experience, etc. The 9 (g) visa is usually valid for 1 - 3 years, depending on the duration of the work contract, and allows legal work and residence in the Philippines.
Special Work Permit (SWP):Mainly used for temporary work situations, such as short-term projects, urgent work tasks, etc. The validity is relatively short, generally within 3 months, and can be extended based on actual work needs. To apply for an SWP, the employer needs to provide relevant project descriptions and the applicant's passport. This visa cannot be converted to a 9 (g) visa and is only for temporary work scenarios.
Student Visa
Student Visa (9 (f) Visa):Issued to full-time students admitted by Philippine schools (including universities, colleges, language schools, and other formal educational institutions). Application materials include a valid passport, admission notice, proof of tuition payment, proof of financial guarantee (to show sufficient funds to cover tuition and living expenses), the student's educational certificates, transcripts, photos, visa application form, etc. The visa validity is determined by the length of the study program, usually consistent with the duration of the study program, allowing students to study and reside legally in the Philippines.
