Ordinary tourist visa (sticker visa)

Single entry visa:Applicable to tourists planning short-term travel in Malaysia, allowing a single entry into Malaysia, with a stay period usually of 30 days, not exceeding 90 days. When applying, it is necessary to provide a valid passport (valid for at least 6 months), passport-sized photos, proof of round-trip flight bookings, hotel booking proof or local accommodation address in Malaysia, visa application form, and other materials.

Multiple entry visa:Suitable for travelers who need to frequently travel to and from Malaysia, such as those who often visit Malaysia for business or tourism. The validity period is usually one year, and the duration of each stay depends on specific circumstances, but generally does not exceed 30 days. The application materials are relatively strict; in addition to the basic passport, photos, and visa application form, detailed travel plans and proof of financial capability (such as bank deposit certificates, income certificates, etc.) are also required to demonstrate sufficient funds to support expenses during the stay in Malaysia and the need for frequent travel.

Electronic visa (e-Visa)

Electronic tourist visa (e-Tourist Visa, abbreviated as e-TV):Mainly aimed at tourists for travel purposes. This is a visa that can be applied for online, and applicants can apply on the official website of the Malaysian Immigration Department or authorized third-party visa processing platforms. When applying, it is necessary to upload the passport information page, photos, round-trip flight itinerary, hotel booking, and other documents. The visa is valid for 3 months, allows a single entry, and the maximum stay in Malaysia is 30 days. This type of visa is relatively convenient to process, with a review time usually of 3-5 working days.

Electronic visa exemption registration (Electronic Travel Registration and Information, abbreviated as e-NTRI):Mainly targeted at Chinese tourists, it is a simpler visa option. By applying online, filling in personal information, uploading the passport information page, round-trip flight itinerary, and other materials, one can apply. The validity period is 15 days, allows a single entry, and the stay in Malaysia cannot exceed 15 days. It is important to note that this visa can only be entered from designated ports in Malaysia with direct flights from mainland China (excluding Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan), and the return must also be a direct flight back to mainland China.

Transit visa

120-hour transit visa:Applicable to travelers transiting through Malaysia to a third country, and staying in Malaysia for no more than 120 hours (5 days). Applicants need to hold a valid ticket to the third country, a passport (valid for at least 6 months), visa application form, and other materials. The application can be processed at immigration counters at designated airports such as Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and Kuala Lumpur Second International Airport (KLIA2), and is usually free of charge. When processing, it is necessary to show the immigration officer a complete travel plan, including flight information for entering and leaving Malaysia and tickets and visas (if required) for the third country.

Work visa

Employment Pass (EP):Issued to foreign professionals, managers, and technical personnel with job opportunities in Malaysia. Employers need to apply to the Malaysian Immigration Department first, submitting company information, proof of job vacancy, applicant's educational certificates, work experience certificates, passport information, and other materials. Once approved, the applicant can obtain a work visa, with a validity period determined by the work contract, up to a maximum of 10 years. Holders can bring their spouses and children (subject to certain conditions), and family members can apply for a dependent pass.

Foreign Worker's Work Permit:Mainly used to introduce non-technical or semi-technical foreign workers to engage in industries with a shortage of local labor in Malaysia, such as construction, manufacturing, agriculture, etc. The application process is relatively complex, requiring employers to handle it through the Malaysian Ministry of Human Resources and other relevant departments, providing proof of labor demand, workers' passport information, health check certificates, and other materials. The validity of the work permit is determined by the work project and contract.

Student visa

Student Pass:Issued to international students who go to schools, colleges, or universities in Malaysia for full-time study. Students need to obtain an admission notice from a Malaysian school first, and then the school assists in submitting the application to the immigration department. Application materials include passport, admission notice, educational certificates, proof of financial guarantee (to prove sufficient funds to pay for tuition and living expenses), photos, etc. The visa validity period is determined by the length of the study program, generally consistent with the duration of the study plan. During the study period, students can legally stay in Malaysia, but if they need to work, they must apply for a work permit separately.

Business visa

Business Visit Visa:Applicable to individuals visiting Malaysia for business purposes, such as attending business meetings, negotiations, market research, etc. It can be a single entry or multiple entry visa, with the stay period determined by the needs of the business activities, generally around 30 days. When applying, it is necessary to provide an invitation letter from a Malaysian company or organization, a copy of the applicant's company's business license, business itinerary, passport, photos, visa application form, and other materials.
